    I did the same thing, but I also added a zip tie through the metal top plate to ensure it can't ever make contact. In case anyone uses zip ties in the engine compartment, make sure they're nylon.

    I feel like if it takes that much trouble, you have the wrong converter. At least the wrong one for racing anyway. You may be totally correct, but swap converters to something with 200-300 more rpm of stall and it's makes it much easier.

    That's exactly how I feel. If anyone else drove my truck they'd understand just how good the tuning and the setup works. This has literally been the only issue I've ever had with the converter. All that being said, I've got a K converter sitting in a box on the floor of my bedroom.
