    White smoke

Black is retarded timing, white is advanced timing which is too much.

    Rough idle when cold

How much is too much timing on the low end? I didn't really change the timing on the idle part, just made changes to the cruising part at 1400-2000 rpm. It does run a bit too hot during mild grades, hits 1k egt due to the larger tires. I need to regear it to 4.10s.

    Rough idle when cold

I'll check that in the morning, going to replace the air filter and clean the maf sensor. This morning, it didn't idle that bad but after work it was worse. Is the actual rail pressure vs desired supposed to be the close within each other at idle? Brian has my logged tune in case you want to...

    Rough idle when cold

Lately since I put my new 37's on, I had to change the tune to recalibrate the speedo and made some minor changes to the timing, boost, and fuel tables. It has been running rough and lopes pretty bad at idle only when it is cold, it smooth out a bit once you give it some throttle over 850 rpm...

    Kryptonite stuff or???

Get the kryptonite. It's pretty much overkill but you won't have to worry about breaking it if it ever happens. The plus side is that everything is under warranty no matter what happens even if it's your fault. Tie rods included too. My front end has been through some abuse and the kryptonite...

    Question: Whats this deal?

I wonder if that will shorten the trans life. Might be too harsh on the components.

    Trailer Opinion

If you have a lot of heavy stuff, I'd recommend you looking for a triple axle trailer. I did the same thing as you did, bought a 35' tandem axle trailer and towed it from AZ to MA. Sold the trailer when I was done moving. I wish I had a triple axle to begin with, it would made my trip safer.

    centerlink removal help

Pull the pitman arm off the gear box. I had the same issue by using a pickle fork, puller, bfh, torch and nothing budged so I pulled the pitman off the gear box and took out the whole centerlink to get a better handle of beating the crap out of the pitman off the centerlink.

Allison 5sp: Horrible noise coming from the transmission

Maybe you can try looking for a used transmission that will be cheap for now to get you around and save up the cash to get your original trans built in the future since it's out.

Help: Vibration from rear progessively worse over 70

I'm having the same issue now. Just had my tires rebalanced a week ago and does that at 60-75 mph. Before I had a loose rear axle wheel bearing that wiped out my seal and it did that. I noticed it when gear oil was leaking on the rear brakes. I'll have to check out my u joint this weekend and...

Another paint thread with rust repair and panel replacement

I would put some bedliner on the rockers to prevent further rust after it is repaired. I'm planning to do mine since MA does salt the shit out of the road. After all mine is completely rust free since it is from AZ and I recently moved back so I'll have to do it soon. Bedliner is pretty tough...

    Which receiver hitch to get?

I knew I wasn't legal towing that much. My hitch didn't fail. My point is that if the hitch failed while towing legally and it is not DOT approved, that's where the trouble comes in. All hitch wear out eventually from towing frequently just because it's strong doesn't mean it's not going to...

    Which receiver hitch to get?

Bigchevyhitch does look beefy but it does not meet my requirements to be DOT legal in case if something happens. I can tell it has bird shit weld all over it, definitely welded by a rookie. My factory hitch has pulled over 15k numerous times without a problem and did over 20k, maybe 30k when I...

    Which receiver hitch to get?

No spare under it :) I'm not too worried about the paint, I'll probably have it covered in rattle can bedliner since that stuff is tough to peel from the corrosion.

    Which receiver hitch to get?

Bigchevyhitch.com looks beefy but where are their spec? It is not DOT approved either. The Curt class V has the highest spec rating. I just need a bumper pull receiver not a 5th wheel hitch.

    Which receiver hitch to get?

I'm stuck which receiver hitch to get for mine. Mine needs a new one since the factory one got mangled in May (tire blew and did a double jack knife against the trailer over 20k lbs). Now I got the truck all fixed up 3 months ago and haven't bought a hitch for it. I want the hitch to be strong...

    Need more noise!

You're going to regret for having a droning exhaust over an engine sound. Believe me, youre going to want to wear ear muffs after 2 hours of driving.
