    Mike L Transmission

Mike's coolers are great. It definitely was a good investment. I had one installed last year and transmission temps average under 200f now. A good 20f/30f lower than before depending on outside temps and how much the transmission is working/shifting. I rarely see over 200f - 220f now. I'm also...

    Holy harmonic balancer Batman!

As long as you followed the torquing sequence of 74ft. Lbs and then 105 degrees you will be fine. Next time get a new bolt. Your not supposed to reuse bolts that are torque to yield.

    Holy harmonic balancer Batman!

Here this is exactly how it was explained to me. This is a better explanation than my other post. "each point on the bolt is 30* (360* divided by 12 is 30*), the valley of the point is half way between each point (15*). so you mark a bolt point to the washer and balancer, then count 3 points...

    Holy harmonic balancer Batman!

It is recommended to use a new bolt when reinstalling the HB. But I have to say on my first wp job I reused the bolt. By the time I got to my 3rd water pump I replaced it. Tightening sequence is tighten to 74 ft. Lbs. 2nd step is 105 degrees. James taught me how to mark and count the points...

Fyi you might have to put the hood in the service position to make it easier and fit a bigger cheater bar.

    Holy harmonic balancer Batman!

I got this for under $50 at the time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3KJQ83/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_K99M2V70FQ1FQJPZ96JA?psc=1 I couldn't justify spending a couple hundred dollars for minimal usage.

Yup as others have said 3/4 inch breaker bar and cheater pipe. I have done it multiple times with no problem.

Your going to have to pull that carpet back to see. Both of those ideas sound like a good place to start.

Do you have a sun/moon roof? It could be coming from a failed seal/silicone between the windshield and frame of the truck

I like that. They have a kit to convert my kryptonite tierods back to stockish style and I could use them on the ppe setup. I have about 4 years on this setup and so far it's still solid. You should see everyone's face when I'm turning in a parking lot at 1 or 2mph and the tires a squealing...

    Ball Joints Won't Last

Pictures of your angles? Back in the day when I was leveled my ball joints /front end parts didn't last long. About one year. I got tired of the rough ride and replacing parts so I lowered the front and they lasted longer. Now I'm lifted to correct all the angles.

Did you go with the 7/8 forged pitman and idler arm with there 1.5 inch OE style center link? I been looking at that setup and like the simplicity of it. How do you like it? Not to many review on that setup. I'm running the kryptonite ss series center link with all the goodies. I'm tired of the...

    LLY Thermostats

There is a bleed screw on top of the thermostat housing. I use a shopvac and straw to suck out the coolant through the bleed screw. Once you stop getting coolant out with the vacuum, pop the thermostat housing off and replace the thermostats. I would get a replacement thermostat housing oring...

Anyone buy the 6 bolt steering box for Napa or Oreilly? How are they holding up? I know they are expensive but i rather go that route vs rolling the dice with the other oprions. At least Napa or Oreilly is close by if need to exercise the lifetime warranty. Just found the seal weeping on the...

    100k miles, internal filter change?

I would change the internal filter. I recently replaced the internal harness, trans fluid exchange, replaced the internal filter, external filter, and fluid exchange on the transfer case. I used 20 qts with two drain and fills. I would also consider doing front and rear differentials, brake...

I'm sorry to hear about your retirement and family situation. But I am glad you will still be able to hang around at the shop and do what you love to do. Your contributions over the years are irreplaceable and I am sure there is many more to come. You have always taken care of me, whether it...
