67 drop in making noise, s400 time?

An S400 does not give any discernable turbocharger noise at idle that I've ever heard. That's from 464/83 to my customer's 485/96 (single).

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

This is what I do! Anything 1200hp+ gets o-ringed on the block side and 625s. I've yet to have an issue myself up to the ~1600whp area.

    MAP sensor scaling Lb7 2002

10-4! Just asking for clarity. Do you know at what point the ECM will get "pissed off" or what it's max value is?

67 drop in making noise, s400 time?

You can get the VS version as I believe a 67 or 68 compressor with their 89mm turbine and ball bearing CHRA. I'll inquire. I've used a few but purchased them from Dustin Mintern. They spool faster than a 467 and make more HP based on the ass dyno.

    MAP sensor scaling Lb7 2002

Does it successfully report ~72.5psia in EFILive? I ask since the sensor is -1bar absolute (-14.5psia) to +5bar absolute (72.5pisa)? I would imagine that if the sensor is just scaled as 0<>+6 BAR instead of -1<>+5 that the readings wouldn't be accurate would they? I should have a better grasp on...

To build or not to build?

This has always been my argument/thought but I have never had data to back it up from the Duramax platform other than a "that makes engineering sense" perspective.

To build or not to build?

On some of our military applications (C7) we've seen microcracking that showed evidence of long term work hardening when sent to a metallurgy lab (both internal and external labs). I haven't sent any of these cranks out for testing that have snapped but the grain structure shows evidence that...

I think that's about what, ~$1500CAD? So a $1799 CP3 conversion kit would (with Sportsman) would put you around $2500CAD...... Ouch on the conversion rate :(

To build or not to build?

I have not had that issue and I live in Upper Peninsula of MI/Northern WI where we see -20°F to -40°F temps in winter. Run a good oil (we run 5W40 in winter months) and you'll be fine. A quality synthetic 15W40 should suffice too, just let it warm up before driving the truck. Personally I...

    Street tires

When I rotate they stay on the same side of the vehicle. If I have uneven wear in the front I address the worn-out component and dismount/remount since they're directional. I can't say I've had that be an issue.

67 drop in making noise, s400 time?

For how I drive I would personally want a touch looser converter but that is just me. What year is the truck? Also, the VS racing G42 units are pretty damn solid and do spool a touch quicker than their borg counterparts while taking the same fitments.

The current crankshaft in either engine has already been work-hardened to the OEM firing order. Changing that firing order now tires to essentially re-work harden the crankshaft to another pattern. IMO I agree with them, skip the AF cam. Pin it, shim the oil pump, and run it if you're going to...

    Street tires

I've had no issues towing with Proxes ST-III. The 305/50R20 is rated at 3086# per tire with a slightly better tread life than the new 420V (500AA vs 460AA). The Ecsta STX is another solid tire in that size.

    Fuel knock

At 250k I'll be honest, an LBZ typically needs injectors due to high return rates. It'll show up as a low rail pressure code in my experience, especially when tuned. With stock trucks it's usually masked until it's extremely bad. I'm not saying that in an attempt to sell you injectors, I'm...

    Best ball joint

Ball Joints: Kryptonite, Mevotech TTX and Moog HD have been solid for me. My truck currently has all Moog. Wheel Bearings: Kryptonite and Timken have been great for me. I have Raybestos on my truck simply because they were the only lifetime warranty bearing I could get in town when I had a...

    02' LB7 Tow Pig Build

Still plugging along on this project. There has been some developments and setbacks but the progress remains about the same which is sad. Updates: 1) I have gone from Dynomite Diesel (DDP) SAC100% to their 150% after 30-45 seconds of run time. Why? My father needed some larger injectors for...
