    The ecm and a few other modules are typically still awake for a time after you turn the key off. They each go to sleep at predetermined settings.

    The yellow top optima batteries were the best of both worlds for a while. I still have one in a generator that's 21 years old.

    And you don't really need to worry about cca. You need to look at total amperage. And when you buy a new one I would go with a good marine deep cycle battery.
