    Finally started the LB7 to LBZ swap

    You're more than welcome to pm me about it. I have 3 swaps under my belt now and helped grey though his. Not hard at all really. Just plan for your truck to be down for a few weeks for part gathering ect. Actually transplant takes 2-3days.

    Idiot driver in dmax

    Yeah, I used to be one of those idiots years ago when I first got my truck (minus the smoke crap). Now that I'm older and I think back on it, it's just plain stupid driving like that. Especially in a 8k LBS. truck. On the flip side, I think you'd be surprised at how well these trucks can handle...

    Help...duramax forum was no help...

    Start by changing to your stock tune. If it's still doing it, than that rules out tuning as a issue. After that, proceed to check your balance rates. From there check the actual vs. desired rail pressure. Sounds like CP3, FPR, or injectors -- IIRC I think it's higher pressures that cause a...

    06 Allison plug pin outs.

    Does anyone by chance have a pinout diagram for the main plug into the back of the allison? Also is the internal safety switch integral to that main plug now?

    Age

    That says it best right there. It's easy to come up with 2k a month and drop $400-700+ on a new truck without any other bill. However, start tacking on mortgage, utilities, property tax, ect; Good luck trying to pay for a truck then living on the rest. Hell, some people spend 2k a month on their...

    LB7=LMM Swap

    The same reason I mentioned above. -- Those O.S. speak two different languages. Can't leave an open loop in the system either otherwise it will throw codes. The injectors have to be swapped, they're flow matched then programmed into the ECM and GPCM. -- LBZ 6 hole IIRC and LMM are 7 hole, it'll...

    LB7=LMM Swap

    Not that simple. For starters LMM and LBZ communication protocols are different. LMM ECM actually talks to the truck though high speed. Where as the LBZ ECM & TCM is programmed by high speed and talk to each other in it, but they talk to the rest of the truck low speed. Same reason it's really...

    LB7=LMM Swap

    Yes, that would clearly be the case if he was putting it in a 02. However, he earlier stated it's going into a 04. Offering poor advice because you didn't read his question, isn't going to help anything but make it more difficult for those who know what the hell is going to to explain it.

    LB7=LMM Swap

    Yep, all depends what your time is worth in dollar value to you. Be prepared to be out of the money for a bit though. You're going to as least eat the injectors and computers for a few weeks. Not sure on the demand of stock LMM injectors but it could be awhile before you sale them.

    LB7=LMM Swap

    Have to swap to the LBZ injectors, ECM & TCM, the egr intake to get rid of the butterfly valve, reprogram the GPCM, MAYBE a LBZ engine harness (I'm un-sure of that, as I don't have a LMM wiring diagram on me atm.). Off the top of my head that's about it, but I haven't done much research into it...

    LBZ: Need pictures of LBZ core support please!

    I dont believe so, two different part numbers. I think the lbz version is a bit taller but not sure on that.

    LBZ: Need pictures of LBZ core support please!

    Hey guys, I'm trying to get a hold of a core support picture to decide to mod my lb7's or buy a lbz support. But I need pictures of the support and measurement from the top to the bottom in the center. Also if someone could get the height of a lbz radiator that would be helpful too!

    im done with this sh#$

    If you plan on keeping your truck another 80-100k miles. It'll be cheaper in the long run putting a lbz in it versus the 1-2 sets of injectors in that span. My engine swap is around 3.5-4k(After selling my lb7). I know of another person in which he can choose to chime in I think is only in it...

    Unknown Engine Sound WITH VIDEO!

    Ahh man, I'm sorry the oil didn't work for you. Knowing me, I'd do what you're doing and head for the heads, then start a tear down and check bearings if I didn't find the problem in the heads.

    Unknown Engine Sound WITH VIDEO!

    Almost sounds like a louder version of the infamous type-writer sound the engines can make. Not to point finger towards lucas oil additives, but I would stay away from the stuff. I've read studies of how it can cause the oil to foam worst than normal and hold air easier. <- Which causes the...

    Unknown Engine Sound WITH VIDEO!

    The engine hot or cold when the video was made? What oil is in there now? On a side note I love the way the twin-turbo kit looks with the battery and coolant in place. Very nice, which kit it that?
