Advise on most streetable dual disc clutch?

Dang, that's not what I wanted to hear ... I haven't finished getting mine back together yet, but my lady is already rolling her eyes at the truck and she hasn't even rid in it yet. That's not going to help my case.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Do you think I can safely cut one to size? I need a 45 but it looks like, from the pictures only, one side is longer than the other. Also, googling is saying passenger side motor-tube is a 3.25" ID tube, but Vibrant doesn't have a 3.25"?

Also, do you happen to have a MAP you can measure for me so I can find out what size nipple to buy?

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Damnit, well it’s already shipped... The GM parts stores don’t have the factory boots any more so I’m not sure what to do instead, PPE is the only one who makes something. The part number seems to be 15034798 for the one boot I really need I could probably find a universal boot if I knew...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Just ordered the full PPE 01 LB7 intercooler hose kit, I debated just ordering the cold side intake one, but there's two other boots that have the blue just barely worn through and I figured I might as well replace them all...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Yeah the 02-04 would put the cold pipe connection parallel to the ground, like the Cali is. My 01 is angled up. I’m thinking I’ll shove a rag in the intake, drill and tap it, then zip tie the map sensor somewhere solid. 02-04s are hard to find, and I don’t feel like tearing the intake and...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

I’m back and got 5 min to peek around. it’s not on the intake runner. I think this is maybe what Rick Lance was saying about an 1/8” hole, just drill and tap a barb and run a vacuum hose to it. Just need to figure out where to mount the map itself.

    Oil cooling

Haha no, just very new to the party. I mainly browse on my phone, so it’s a lot of work to get caught up on a thread as big as this. I’m even late to looking into the L5P, the new stuff usually doesn’t interest me. But I didn’t realize nearly everything is different other than cylinder bore...

    Oil cooling

I was watching some stuff on the 2020 L5P last night and saw the oil cooler had been significantly redesigned, has anyone looked into retrofitting to older blocks?

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

I’ll have to check when I’m near the truck again. I guess I was assuming that the stock location on my 02 Cali was the y bridge, but then that wouldn’t make sense if I really did see the vacuum tube. So if I did see the vacuum tube, it’s hooked up to the clamshell and then I don’t have any...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

When you say clamshell, what are you referring to? Other than swapping to the 01 Y bridge and 01 intercooler cold side, the intake is stock. 1/8” did sound small to me too. Mine did have the nipple and vac line, because I remember seeing the vac line off the sensor in my parts stash...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

I just spoke with ProFab because their Y bridge doesn’t come pre-tapped for MAP. Rick said that it doesn’t matter the location of the sensor as long as it’s in the pressurized portion. So I think I’m just going to drill an 1/8” hole and figure out how to secure the map to it.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

If I drill and tap the 01 Y Bridge and try running the 02 Cali MAP to it, will I have problems with the readings it’s giving because of the location of the sensor? I’m worried I will have a hard time finding an 02-04 Federal Y Bridge.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

I think the one I have will work with an 02-04 Federal bridge. But it will not work with this 01.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

So I did a little research and it looks like the 01 had the MAP sensor on the passenger side intake runner. Looks like I got myself into a pickle I think my best bet is trying to find an 02-04 Federal y bridge and swapping that in. But that means taking the fricken wiring harness and...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Damnit, that sucks. But that makes sense why I wasn’t finding the intake boot using 02 as model year. I recall a sensor on the Cali two piece Y bridge that had a little plastic tube out the bottom. I don’t remember where the tube connected to though. It may have even been disconnected or...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

Okay so after googling, no. I still have it attached to the Cali y bridge. There’s three Baro sensors on a Cali lb7 and I thought you only needed one, the one under the main engine to body harness connections on the passenger side. I didn’t realize the other one on the intake side was...

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

So after $200 in oil and coolant I nearly got it ready to be started yesterday, but turns out the federal Y bridge and Cali Y bridge are indeed different so I need a new intake boot. However I can’t seem to find one/the part number. Anyone know? Also at some point during the rebuild I got my...

Ah okay I see now. That’s what I thought, at least for now. There’s some stuff I’ll want to redo in the future.

    Considering DD'ing 350k mile LB7?

The big ground is in back of the head yes, but that little ground post I was pointing to in the last picture is what I was asking about. I just ground it to the firewall. I swapped to a Federal y-bridge and it looks like it doesn’t have the mounting holes for that PVC Wye tube. Can I just run...
