    Here's the update, started the swap Friday night after work. Had the old motor out by morning Saturday. Swapped ficm, ran a new fuel line to the filter head, ihi turbo, up pipes, down pipes, routed the turbo coolant lines, installed the federal y bridge..... Had this done by mid day then slammed...

    The above motor is being ran with a stand alone LB7 harness and still has all the factory LLY turbo/egr/y bridge on. I will be removing those components and switching to LB7 tomorrow then installing in my truck.

    So here we are again, another LB7 to LLY swap. Lets beat this up one more time, but with a slight change....... I have a 2002 2500 LB7, have owned this truck since new in 2001, was my first duramax truck and it is what inspired my chevelle. Well like every other LB7 in the world this truck...

    You need EFI live or a tech 2 to do a balance rate.

    Have you done a balance rate? That would give you a good idea of how the injectors are. Also keep in mind the return lines are in the valve covers which if leaking would do so right into the crankcase.

    Yes, would suck for those to leak after you get it back together.

    You can get them at the dealer, not that expensive. More of a squarish type of seal (not very round) and has squared of edges.

    Leave the y bridge on. The pump will come out, it's not easy, but will work.

    4k all day long, burn outs included. Under load no prob. Been doing it everyday for yrs, no issues.

    An overdrive is not necessary. I ran my Chevelle for 30k miles without one, just need the right gear and tire combo. 2.56 gear and 30" tall tire, or a combo close to that. This would get you really close to factory cruising speeds on the freeway. With a truck you may have more options on tire...

    Lol. The 33.5x16 Hoosiers are Russ' nova tires. The Chevelle runs the 30x13.50 et streets.
