Picked up a used 25' gooseneck yesterday to replace my 22' bumper pull deck over trailer. Already noticed how much smoother it pulls than my old trailer.
This is what I have in both my garages. Work's well, but if I was to do my shop over again I would do in floor heat!!!

I have mine cranked about 1.5"-1.75" and think it rides the same as stock. I think aftermarket keys are a waste unless you get new shocks and upper control arms. Here is a picture of mine with 275/65/20 Goodyear Duratrac's.
If you want to be competitive you need your hitch at 26" and as close to the rear of your truck as allowed. Something like this.
And get a set of adjustable stops.

Or Ats makes a hot side intercooler pipe that hooks right up, but it about $350!
