    Piston Bowls

I realize its a hard thing to put into words. What I was saying was that the oval shape of the bowl was to provide enough material where it was needed to provide stregnth and the oval shape was to provide enough airspace to keep the compression ratio manageable. Now lets pretend that...

    Piston Bowls

I do understand that, I guess what I'm asking is that is the extra volume of the bowl outside of what the spray pattern needs necessary for efficent combustion or is it more to keep the compression ratios at a near stock level? And would there be any benefits to having that portion of the bowl...

    Piston Bowls

Hmm, so if you took the most narrow section of the bowl of the pistons you are currently producing and used that as the diameter for a circular bowl it would in fact be weaker then the ones you're currently making? Or just not any stronger? Again please forgive my ignornace

    Piston Bowls

I was thinking that as well but besides from the compression "issue" It would probably be an even stronger piston..even if that difference was negligible. Personally, I don't see high compression as anything but a plus in a built motor application... I mean how many built motors do we see...

    Piston Bowls

This may be a stupid question and it quite possibly was already answered in the past 26 pages of this thread so forgive me if thats the case but.. Injectors spray in a "flower/star" type pattern which is more or less similar to a circle correct? With the oval pistons I assume the spray...

    Top 25 Stock Duramax's

What I don't understand is this... Besides moving some weight slightly farther back on the truck, how is someone running a fuel cell gonna be any faster then someone with a stock tank? or stank tank with a sump? I don't see the big deal personally, Ive looked into putting a cell in my...

?traction bars? which one and why

Where you spinning and hopping when you cut that 1.89? Or we're you just taking it easy? If the motor lets go it's most likely gonna be on the big end once you hit 4-5 gear. That's what really stresses it out. Don't be afraid to let her eat if you haven't run out of traction yet

?traction bars? which one and why

I'm no suspension expert, but I have a hard time seeing adding more play to where to the spring is mounted to the frame as being anything but a bad idea... In terms of launches anyway. You want that weight to come down hard on the back end...

?traction bars? which one and why

If you can get that 60' down shes got 11's in her for sure with that mph. What hole are you running the caltracs in? How far off the spring pack is the bar? IMHO preloading them is worthless. you want them just barely making contact..or at least thats been the best for my truck however i...

?traction bars? which one and why

I'm a big fan of my caltracs.. and 1.63 60's on street tires seems to back that up.

    Why no blowoff valves?

Oh i know, I love mine! just got back from a 4 day weekend in the mountains. Burned halfway through some brand new brake pads and lost a good bit of rubber but man was it fun!

    Why no blowoff valves?

I don't even run a BOV on my miata. I just let it stall. It sounds way cooler and rebuild kits for knockoff gt25's are balls cheap if I ever did have a problem
