    Sorry to hear about your troubles. Seems like more and more guys are getting screwed recently. I had the same thing happen to me. Had a verbal contract that I would buy the truck and was driving down to pick it up...called to confirm time and place to meet and the guy sold it out from under me...

    Not holding rail pressure could be a problem. Still, he must have had some mods. I wouldn't feel bad...everyone loses at some point...just build it faster.

    The general rule is 80-90 additional wheel horse for a stock trans is the max. The six speed is stronger and can take a little more. However, all trucks are different. Some guys limp on a 65 horse tune with some abuse. Some guys run 500rwhp on a stock trans for quite some time. Never know.
