    Hello I'm a newbie

Lb7 swap Just went through the same thing with mine. After pricing the rebuild vs the swap I chose to swap. I went with the lly and am pleased with the results. No more worrying about lb7 injectors. Had to do some tuning to get fuel economy back though.

    Cooling question

Yea just walked out and looked at my friends and it does say Diesel, makes sense that it keeps air up where it needs to be. I am not overheating at all but notice that the clutch fan kicks in ALOT more than the old lb7 did.

    Cooling question

What is the plastic shield under the cooling stack with the ribs in it? Does it have anything to do with cooling or just air flow? I just installed an lly in my 03 and believe it or not somehow I lost it and just wondering how important it is. Lol

thinkin of a lly into lb7 swap

Got it running. Finally got it running. 2 bad injectors. Love the swap. I am noticing quite a performance difference between the lb7 and the lly. The lb7 seemed to pull harder than the lly. The lly just does'nt put you back in the seat like the lb7 did. Going to try some tuning to see if we...

    Emergency re-learn

She Runs!!! Turns out I had high return rates on 2 injectors. Replaced all 8 just for peace of mind. Real surprised to feel the difference between the Lb7 and LLY. The Lb7 had a stronger pull and I could feel the turbo kick in before every shift point. The LLY does not pull as hard and I can...

    Emergency re-learn

Bottle test looks good. Had to bite the bullet and take it to the shop. They claimed the crank psition sensor was bad, replaced it and still no start. Now they are saying my ecm is not communicating with the truck. OH boy here we go. ARGH

    Emergency re-learn

Nope no scanner, just a backyard hack here. Re-learn seems successful, the security light goes out within 3 seconds of key turned to on. Working through fuel system now to make sure I have fuel. I have checked to return line and getting fuel through return line as I crank.

    Emergency re-learn

Thanks AubleAK. We tried that, now the security light cycles off after about 3 seconds as soon as we turn on key. That is what I would expect, but still no start. No not a leak, fuel at the priming screw when open. Just not sure how much I need to prime. Read lots of posts that say you have to...

    Emergency re-learn

Just swapped in an lly to an 03. Swap went easy, but now fighting a no start. When following the emergency re-learn procedure, should the security light stay on solid between start cycles? How long do I need to prime? I have fuel at the filter pumping out as I prime.

thinkin of a lly into lb7 swap

hey guys, just finishing with the lly swap from lb7. The swap was as mentioned a piece of cake. The bad news is I cant get it to fire. Have done the eergency re-learn twice with no success. Crank for about 3-5 seconds, leave in run position for 11 minutes, security light goes off in about 9...
