Just swapped in an lly to an 03. Swap went easy, but now fighting a no start. When following the emergency re-learn procedure, should the security light stay on solid between start cycles? How long do I need to prime? I have fuel at the filter pumping out as I prime.

I think on a relearn the security light stays on, and after like 10
Minutes or so, if your doin it the Manual way it will shut off and you turn the key off for 30 seconds and then back
On. Do that three times.

And what do you mean there's fuel coming out at the filter head? Like a leak?

You need to crank the engine for it long enough to build pressure at the cp3

Thanks AubleAK. We tried that, now the security light cycles off after about 3 seconds as soon as we turn on key. That is what I would expect, but still no start. No not a leak, fuel at the priming screw when open. Just not sure how much I need to prime. Read lots of posts that say you have to prime a lot. Not sure if this is my issue or not.

im pretty sure the security relean procedure take about 30 min you have to try to start and leave the key in the run postion for 10min then turn it off repeat this 3 times after the 3rd time try to start it and it should start.

That's the manual way of doing it. You can do it in less then a minute with a tech 2 or efi V2 also tho

Nope no scanner, just a backyard hack here. Re-learn seems successful, the security light goes out within 3 seconds of key turned to on. Working through fuel system now to make sure I have fuel. I have checked to return line and getting fuel through return line as I crank.

Bottle test looks good. Had to bite the bullet and take it to the shop. They claimed the crank psition sensor was bad, replaced it and still no start. Now they are saying my ecm is not communicating with the truck. OH boy here we go. ARGH

She Runs!!!

Turns out I had high return rates on 2 injectors. Replaced all 8 just for peace of mind. Real surprised to feel the difference between the Lb7 and LLY. The Lb7 had a stronger pull and I could feel the turbo kick in before every shift point. The LLY does not pull as hard and I can just barely feel the turbo kick in. Sure runs sweet though and is a LOT quieter than the Lb7. Fuel economy sucks. I miss the lb7's 20+ mpg. Hopefully some tuning will help.
