    Making a 4L80 Live

Thanks for the response. One more question for ya. Can GM reflash my stock automatic 05 LLY ECM to a manual? My stock ecm is out an auto truck. I've done a bunch of cummins stuff like that over the years, not sure if GM stuff is capable of doing that

    Making a 4L80 Live

How does the duramax engine ecm like 4L80 vs running an allison? Heard the ecm computer throws codes when there is no allison behind the engine. I want to run a LLY with a 4L80 in a kit car or muscle car.

    Advantages of a parallel setup?

Think about whats the advantage of running twin parrallel turbos over a single? Almost none, besides the fact you can say you have twins under the hood. There are some slightly spool-up improvements running twins in parallel, but all the extra air tubing under the hood would be a night mare...

    Advantages of a parallel setup?

Typical turbos compressor wheels are only designed to run up to pressure ratio of 4 to 1. Pressure ratio is calculated Pr = (pressure ambient+boost pressure)/pressure ambient Here is some basic turbo techno stuff. Most diesel run more boost than gasers do. Any more pressure turbos like to...

The piston bore in a duramax is bigger than the 5.9L The stroke isn't quite as long. 0.7L is lots of more CFM to push thru. Duramax also push more rpms than cummins, stock. 5.9L cummins bore X stroke (4.02 X 4.72) 6.6L duramax 4.0551 X 3.8976 No worries guys, I'm learning on the duramax...

IMAO when I read this last night. 300% more flow, wow. I can believe 125% more in stock form, but 300%. The duramax does has a better head design, as it should its a bigger engine. I owe both brands of trucks. Once I get some data and pictures of my R&D project, I'll start a new thread, we can...

Thanks Ben, I know there is a difference cummins and duramax. Most of our cummins have highly modified cylinders heads, one that actually flow better than the duramax heads that we flowed. Yes our external wastegates are plumbed into the hotpipe, it would be pretty much a waste of time if your...

    12v cummins

Funny, you have to learn to drive, just don't mash the foot to the floor. The SDX delivery valves work. Sorry its just as easy as adjusting your afc. Learn to live buddy, there is tons of fueling there tap into some of it. We have bunch of truck running around like this. Prior to flooring the...

    12v cummins

Probably a 175HP pump. Get the part # off the side of pump so you can find out for sure. We have several tweaked stock truck near 500rwhp. First off you'll parts are dirt cheap and power easy to be found. Best mod going is to throw in 4k gsk, SDX competion delivery valves, rack the barrells, and...

Twins, up pipes and pedestal build...

With my engine out of the truck, its pretty easy for me to just punch a hole into the engine block. Might become a standard for my duramax builds. Could also punch a hole into the front gearbox cover, be carefull as its pretty busy inside. My truck is in pieces, so I'm just getting a plan put...

Could always runs a electric turbo scavanging oil pump and then plumb it into the valve cover. LLY's don't have any oil return plugs in the block. Coming from cummins 5.9/6.7 stuff, there turbo oil return plugs/oil feeds all over place. I'm going to drill my block on my LLY when I take it in for...

How are you doing the oil supply/drains from the primary turbo? There are a few plugs on the passager side you can tap in pretty easy. You punching a hole into the pan?

I've done a few dodge cummins 5.9L running that same turbine combo. Works well, your going to be fairly happy. Your worst enemy will be from boost leaks, as now you can easily exceed 60psi. We had to build bracing to keep air tubes from popping off air lines. You do pretty decent work. You going...

You get the S476 with the LI wheel? I've had pretty good success running the 1.1 T-6 83 turbine wheel. Even tried the S478 LI on a truck, was impressed how well it spooled. Those turbos are priced right for those on a budget. We did one truck at 1000rwhp, with a little spray, so you'll blast...

LMM: Stock turbo with drop in batmowheel

It came off a GT40 turbo, can't remember the exact part # for the wheel. Its alot higher flow than the stock turbo. trimmed 3-4mm off the compressor cover inlet, re-balanced the turbo, fresh bearings and electronics. I'll work on getting some pictures. Basically a GT4088VGT, at a fraction of the...

    LB7: HTT 66/71/14 Opinions

Any of you guys consider running the S366/73 0.91 T-4 turbo? Its about 1/3 the price of the T-3 housing, and has a way better turbine wheel.

LMM: Stock turbo with drop in batmowheel

Which wheel did you install into the stock turbo? I have done a bigger garrett wheel into the stock turbo. I went with a 66mm inducer, and the stock turbine housing. Been working fairly good. Must done it a few years ago.

How to test for boost leak's.

When ever I used pcv or abs plumbing stuff the plug would blow out. We use weldolet pipe plugs, sch 10 for 3in/4in and 5in. Just drill in a 1/4npt for what ever air hose you use. The air supply must be regulated. I have tested truck for leaks upto 80 psi.:) Saying that the truck has to be built...
