LMM: EGR delete-mid install-NEED HELP with fitment DP/UP

My driver side dip stick didnt fit worth a crap, only one of the tabs lined up, and then it was touching the glow plug controller. Its been fine though. It was also touching the lower fire wall heat shield (the one way down there) and it was rattling like crazy. Drove me up a wall for months...

LBZ: Where to find a sturdy blocker plate?

Why doesn't the bellow blow with the original egr cooler in tact? When the egr is closed wouldn't it be the same pressure? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LBZ: Where to find a sturdy blocker plate?

I was thinking about that. What are you using to weld in there? A round piece of steel? Maybe a freeze plug? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LBZ: Where to find a sturdy blocker plate?

Im trying to find a blocker plate for an lbz. The plate for the up pipe. Id remove the up pipe and cut and weld it shit but the bolts dont seem to want to move and im worried they would break off in the manifold/ turbo. The only plates i can find look like the thin ones that you would use in...

I never replaced the u joints in this truck at all. 230k miles not sure if they are original or not. Fronts are cause they still have that plastic cap sealant in them. But anyhow the ones in the rear are spicer 1480's Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LLY: Loose u-joint caps in yoke

So i was under the truck today and noticed my rear u joint on the rear drive shaft is loose in the yoke. The caps turn, and i can slide the joint back and forth. A little back story on this is a while ago i put a brand new yoke in the rear diff with a new seal to stop the leak i had, also used...

LB7: Grit and grime under valve covers

Yea it worked great, saved me a lot of time. Merchant automotive sells the kit, $50 for the air hammer bit and socket or $60 with the air hammer, so you get an air hammer for ten bucks lol

LB7: Grit and grime under valve covers

Its a smaller air hammer, with a 3/8 drive bit in it and a 12 mm socket that bottoms out on the glow plug (so it doesn't it the cylinder head) And for the broken one i used this 6mm extractor that i put on the air hammer bit and used that to smash it onto the broken glow plug, and kept hammering...

Help: Not a duramax but its a diesel!

The exhaust and tuning i did through fixmyvw.com $870 dollars shipped for a full 409 stainless exhaust system. I recommend at least a resonator with it as it was very loud and droned without one. Resonator adds like $50. Buzzken makes the exhaust, he's in canada. A lot of guys just do straight...

Help: Not a duramax but its a diesel!

Finally filled up after my first tank since delete. Got 36 mpg. But it was a lot of wide open driving, and getting on it. This next fill up should be more accurate. Although this car has bigger tires than factory so not sure how accurate the trip millage is. But we will see what kind of increase...

LB7: Grit and grime under valve covers

Haha your not kidding Heres the one that broke off, i used a bolt extractor, the kind that a 3/8 ratchet can go on, and used that with a 3/8 air hammer bit. All while air hammering and turning at the same time. Never had a problem with any other generation engine's glow plugs. Lb7's kinda...

LB7: Grit and grime under valve covers

Wow these glow plugs on lb7's are a huge pain! I got them all out but one. I used merchants air hammer set up and ill say it works damn good. The one thats still in the head broke. The hex part twisted off with almost no pressure. Gonna try an extractor and see what happens. Sent from my...

LB7: Grit and grime under valve covers

Alright guys thanks for quick replies, it wasnt a whole lot but i just wanted to be thorough with this job. A lot that can go wrong and bite me in the ass lol It was just some small finer particles that i could see that stuck to the oil residue on the head. Most of it was from the lower valve...
