LBZ: Where to find a sturdy blocker plate?

Im trying to find a blocker plate for an lbz. The plate for the up pipe. Id remove the up pipe and cut and weld it shit but the bolts dont seem to want to move and im worried they would break off in the manifold/ turbo. The only plates i can find look like the thin ones that you would use in between the egr cooler and up pipe. Sinister has the thick ones but they dont sell them individually. Any other options? Want one like this

It's just break off eventually.. If you'll take an air angle grinder you can cut it off and weld it in the truck.. I've done probably 5 that way.

I was thinking about that. What are you using to weld in there? A round piece of steel? Maybe a freeze plug?

Called sinister and they wont sell me just the plate. I dont know why they couldnt??? Kinds crappy way to deal with a customer

I usually find a big ass bolt head that fits the pipe and weld it in. Using a mig welder obviously

If you cap it with one of those bolt on plates plan to have to weld the up pipe at some point.. I've seen to many of them break the bellow on the up pipe and then you have a big ass drive leak.. My old lbz was one of them.

I've ran Rick's and had no issue but still prefer to weld them. Up pipes aren't fun so I like to only touch them Once

I have more then a few sinister ones sitting here. All used, all removed because the bellow cracked. Id feel bad giving you one. Just do it right the first time. Nothing worse they trying to limp home with a cracked bellow.

Why doesn't the bellow blow with the original egr cooler in tact? When the egr is closed wouldn't it be the same pressure?

It's because when it pressure's up, the bellows bends and tries to expand. With nothing to secure it, it eventually flexes too much and cracks. Binder dundat. Run a blocker plate with the egr in still or non egr up pipe.

Support. Hooked up to the cooler, the pipe is held VERY securely, and it keeps the bellows from expanding under pressure. That little plate with just 1 bolt cannot hold the up pipe securely enough to stop the bellows from expanding, and eventually rupturing. I talk people out of the deletes and have them use a blocker plate. It won't increase the chances of the up pipe cracking or leaking, keeps it looking stock for inspections, easier to install, and they work just as well.

The only issue I saw with the block I was going to install on mine was it was not flat enough for the 2 10mm studs with nuts to seal it up. I did not take any chances and used a flat surface, some sandpaper and surfaced it, surprising how flat it was not....
