LBZ: Worth it to keep goin at 160k?

My 06 lly just hit 160k, is it worth it to keep it and put a bigger turbo on it(s300/400) and nozzles and keep the truck? Or is the mileage to much for the truck to get a bigger turbo. I would love to keep her, I'm just afraid that my motors gettin old? I also have no where near the funds, nor do I plan on building the internals.. Can a bigger turbo be ran for a while without building the motor?

ive got 155k on mine 70k with the ppe on the 225+ tune.... still runs like a champ...cant say that about the trans though.:eek:

I REALLY HAVE FAITH IN THE LBZ'S ...SO KEEP IT

I really want to. It's just it gets boring so quick.. Always want to go faster. A Max effort tune isn't suiting my needs anymore lol... Btw, everytime I look at your name^^^ I piss my pants LOL.

Keep it as is IMO. The more you push it, obviously the more likely you are to break it. So if you can't afford to fix it if breaks, I don't think I'd greatly increase the risk of severe damage. That's more of an economic decision than hotrodder worried bout his machine.


That's my $0.02 worth.

My 06 just triped 145k I had an S475 put on it 2 weeks ago. I say keep it and play. The good thing about keeping an older truck is with out a $500 a month payment it leaves $500 a month to buy truck goodies with.

It runs good, It starts pulling and just keeps going and going until it shifts. I'm use to the power falling off before the shifts but now it pulls hard all the way up to 3800 where it shifts. And as far as the cheetah goes, I've never ridden it a truck with one and dont want to knock them but I strongly suggest you talk to someone that installs chargers like Dustin or Trent before you get one. I dont think they add the power and run as efficiently as a fixed charger.

Oh I'm definatly aware of that. If I would go with any vvt it would be a 4094va... Most likely a billet s366 with race cover.

I'm tellin you Devon, you arent loosing anything by going to an s400...please, please, please dont make me work around a s300


Haha, well a 472 is the other option, definatly going bigger than a 464,but not as big as a 475. I want my motor to somewhat last.

you will not hurt your engine with a max effort tune and a S475. Unless you do not run proper tuning
