Just replaced both wheelbearings at 117k. Used Timken this time. First time was at 66k. Strange thing is both times the driver one was bad and the pass is still good. How many miles are you guys getting out of yours and are both in one failing?

Always the driver side on both my trucks.
I've had one timken fail in a short order and had them last over 100k both, skf is the way to go, best price is on rock auto.

I heard from a GM rep that Timken moved its manufacturing and is (was?) trying to fix some quality control issues at its new place. there are a bunch of bearings out on the shelves now with the possibility of having issues.
it is possible that all of these have been sold and most of the ones out are "good". but you can't have 100% perfect quality so you never know. chances are your next set will last much longer. statistics say so

Did you torque it properly or with an impact? I'm a firm believer in keeping impacts away from bearings and torque correctly.

Timken is a great choice though! That's what we run on our combines however everyone makes mistakes....cp4
