Few days ago, I was out clearing a section of yard, burning the scrap limbs, and Roni tells me she has something that needs to be burnt due to carpenter ants.

SO........we had a pig roast. :ROFLMAO: Resized_20210524_204457.jpegResized_20210524_204900.jpegResized952021052495203539.jpg

So we send the pics to our kids, and they both write back, "You both have a weird sense of humor". I have no idea why they'd say that.

We may never know. There are, if you Google it, a number of others that have installed mini splits on their RVs or campers successfully. So we will see how this one goes. I have a feeling they won't do as much traveling as originally planned as his wife won't be able to tolerate the long trips

Well, we signed the papers to put ours up for sale. 31 years in one house, kind of mixed emotions to sell it. Plan is to sell while the market is still very hot here, hopefully lumber prices continue to fall so we can build the new place without taking a complete bath.

Instead of the Mini Split, they should have looked at some of the new roof top units. Much quieter and have built in soft starts on some models for the Inverters and Solar guys.

Wife wanted to build a new hobby station in the front room of the house to hold all her craft items and give her a good sized counter area to work. Previously, she would have to use the kitchen table for larger projects, and could only use one machine at a time.
She measured and made her plans, bought the materials and started work. I initially stayed out of it as she wanted to work on it herself, but about halfway in she found (as I did years ago) that working with a 150 yr/old home and previous owners who couldnt read a tape measure, let alone a damn level, makes any modern construction project a pain and she was getting very frustrated. So, I got involved.
Had to get her to understand that even though her plans were excellent, she had to somehow tie the sides to the countertop and backsplash to make a solid foundation which would strengthen the entire assembly, then had to explain why an 8ft countertop and shelves will sag if not supported thru the middle, so had to adapt her plans to all that.
But everything turned out nicely in the end, and I havent seen her that happy in a while. This also gave her reason to repaint the room and install new blinds, so we got those two jobs out of the way, too.

I did finally finish the patio. All the Cedar was finished with an epoxy sealer and spar urethane. I still need to build out the shed for my compressor and storage, but one thing at a time.
I had a guy make me a custom fire pit and I'm working on an American Flag picnic table.

Helped some friends move the last of their furniture out of their old house and got a fridge for my time. I put it in my shop next to my Tool box and started filling it with a case of water and beer, and a few other drinks. Definitely makes time in the shop more enjoyable not having to go back into the house to get a drink

Been busy building the house, shop has taking a back seat. Shop is up and dried in. Has electricity but my tag is still red until I prove I'm not growing weed. Going before the planning commission on 6/21 so they can see I'm not Pablo Escabar.

Sheetrock is hung in the house, we're in the process of interior paint. I did the Versetta stone on the garage front to the siders can start, hopefully this week.

Did score a 2 ton jib crane off of the neighbor for the shop. Glad I have it before the concrete goes in. Now we can pour the base for it when the floor is done.

Been rehabbing a house with my wife. Been a 6 month project so far but we are nearing the end.

Fun times.

I don’t even know where to begin on pics. 😂
