LBZ: Upper radiator hose supposed to be hard at idle?

After letting my LBZ warm up and driving for about 10 minutes i let it idle in my driveway and the upper radiator hose was hard at idle. Is this supposed to be hard or soft at idle? I havnt been able to find a good answer.

Should be able to squeeze it in a little bit. When cooled down pull the cap off. Start truck and look for bubbles

No bubbles upon startup...
