Trans Tune OS Question

Sorry dumb question, but didn't find the answer.

Do you have to match OS when installing a tcm tune w/efi? I have a trans tune I want to try but the OS doesn't match mine...I know for the ecm I would run a script but not sure about the tcm.

You can full flash the tune or script it.

How do I make it work if the OS are different. EFI sends and error about the OS being different so it won't run a comparison. I don't really want to do a full flash unless that is the only way. Do I just need TCM tune with the same OS as the modified TCM tune I have. Then EFI will compare and I can create a script and then run that on my stock TCM tune. Or do I have it wrong?

If so I was unable to find a stock TCM tune with the last 4 digits of 2881 for an 02 (i think model).

Just when I thought I was getting the hang of EFI I find I don't know anything.

You need the stock version for the OS of the modified tune you have. Then open the stock tune and compare with the modded tune. Make a script and run it on your stock tune.
