small leak from bottom holes in bell housing...

i just pulled and re installed my tranny due to a broken "flexplate"(or whatever you call the plate that attaches to the flywheel). i have noticed a drip or 2 a few times under the truck coming from the bottom holes in the bell housing. maybe its just some residual from the install. i sure hope so. any ideas on what could be leaking inside the bell housing?

Did you take the bell housing off the trans at all , if not then I hope it's that as well . If you did take it off , you needed to put some sealant on the bolts that go into the pump

no.... i didn't take the bell housing off the trans.....

i hadn't thought of that. i just checked it. it is engine oil. where would it be coming from?

That's my guess, hence my first question.

Could possibly be something in the valley. any leak in the valley will drain down in the rear cover

True... So many places for a leak that will run down the housing.

But my guess is rear main is weeping.

man....rear main wasn't leaking until i pulled the tranny. wish i would have known while the tranny was out

My lb7 and LMM have a very small leak, a little wet there from day one....
