463 is based off larger frame s400, where 363 is based off the smaller framed s300 series, little tougher than its smaller brother!!!

I can't have clipped wheels, and I need a stock map groove, I know nothing about turbos. But would these be a better option than a 63.5 billet cheetah?

Anyone running a Billet S363 in T4? The work stock class I pull in are talking about going to a 2.5" bore turbo.

Isnt a cheetah based off a stock charger? Not the best option for that purpose unless youre limiting to 'stock appearing'.
Either of these would make good power, but if competition is your only goal, then the s400 would be the only one to go with from those two.

The S463 is the better choice because turbine flow supports more hp than the S300 can. Problem with all this 2.5 class stuff is none of the box stock turbos pass tech because the inducer bores are larger than 2.550" so you have to have it "fixed" to pass.

Here's the new rules they are purposing:

Turbocharger: The turbocharger is limited to a single small frame (s300 or gt30 series or hx40 or smaller) 2.5” inducer bore turbo. The bore will be checked with a 2.505" plug. The entire inducer portion of the compressor wheel must protrude into the inducer bore. No MWE groove larger than 0.200" is permitted. Any cutting, notching or etc. of the turbo wheels / blades will result in a disqualification. No bushing of the inducer is permitted. 6.4 liter Powerstroke engines may utilize the factory twin turbo configuration in OEM stock form only, no modifications allowed. No turbo exhaust foot larger than a T4 is permitted. Aftermarket exhaust manifolds are permitted as long as the exhaust flange is no larger than T4.

LOL!!! Well your screwed then because you will be buying a 62mm turbo to pass those rules.

Mine will be teched with a 2.55" plug, stock map groove and true bore, which I'm not sure what that means if anyone could explain it to me? I'd like to keep it stock appearing as it's my daily driver but from what I have read the s363 spools nice

So a 463 will not pass a 2.55 rule?

No box stock turbo you'll find anywhere will pass for a no map groove pretty much. So they can't say it's to keep the cost down, it's strictly for non educated tech officials.
