Just sad I never got to see it in person on the salt IMO LSR is so much more of an accomplishment than the 1/4.

Well, the time has come to pull the plug on our SCTA racing.

Our racing has always been "multi-format", we like to do all kinds of racing. But SCTA racing is "all or nothing".

Technically, "Casper" was never legal for SCTA racing:

1) We did not have an engine swap, non-factory supercharging, or a quick change axle. This is technically required, but not enforced.

2) We have more than one computer controlling the truck operation. You are only allowed to have an engine computer. Again, this is technically required but not enforced.

With the rules banning glass windows and engine coolant, it is not realistic to run a street legal vehicle in the SCTA anymore.

Casper should appear back at the dragstrip soon I hope, and perhaps the Silver State Classic or other forms of racing.

Can you explain this "engine swap" rule? from the reading I`ve done it just says its permitted to have a non OEM type engine...

The DT class says you are governed by Gas Coupe rules. You go to the Gas Coupe rules, and it says: You must have one or more of these mods - Quick Change axle, non-OEM supercharging (OEM = Naturally Aspirated), or an engine swap.

Now that what the INK says. But when you ask the rules folk, you CAN run without an engine swap, or a quick change, or non-OEM supercharging.

Here's something else odd about DT class: You can run a VW Rabbit P-up with a huge engine in it (unibody), but you can't run an El Camino. There was a GMC Cabellaro? (GMC Elky) that was diesel even.

A smart man would start with an S-10 and build it from the ground up as a Gas Coupe. Current Dmax tech would push you over 250mph easy with direct drive or a 2 speed.

But when you are done, you have an S-10 that can't be used for anything but LSR.

Is there a pdf version of a 2012 or 2013 rule book by chance?
