Removing mirror glass

On the tow mirrors, need to remove the top glass (with signal in it), without braking, and be able to reinstall glass. Can it be done? How?


Also pulling the entire mirror of the LMM, pretty easy? I haven't really looked yet.

Had to replace mine. From what I've seen it's not doable without breakage. That was a LLY however. Not positive on the LMM.

I used a piece of wood instead the times i have done it. Push the top of the mirror in all the way and hit the wood w/ the hammer to partially undo the glass. It wont move much(maybe 1/4"). Then push bottom of mirror in and push up on the glass and it will pop out.

John is right I haven't broke one yet and I gave the one in those pics a pretty good whack to see if it would break. Now to lower portion you can't not remove without breaking.
