Figured this would be of interest for a lot of guys on here. I've been using Wagler's pinned oil pump on engines lately. They take a new GM pump, shim it for more pressure, and then machine it and the gear for a pin. I can not report on the pressure results yet but it looks like really good insurance for the gear slip problem.

Those shimmed pumps work good for an engine that had the bearing clearances opened up some. The melling pumps move too much oil (creates higher oil temps) and the stock pumps (even LML) seem to be on the ragged edge of not enough. its all dependent on where you set your clearances but i like them. i have one sitting on the shelf for my truck eventually.
