oil pressure test gauge

I own an 05 2500 LLY and have a problem with oil pressure .I want to install a test gauge to monitor the problem and give me exact readings . Not sure where to plumb in . On the filter housing I see two hex key plugs . An aluminum plug 10mm hex above and forward of the filter , the other is smaller steel 8mm hex just bellow the filter where it screws on . the larger plug seems to be seized up but the smaller one is removable . does anyone know if this plug can be removed and install an oil pressure test gauge ?

The larger upper one is sometimes a SOB to get loose.. That is the one that Kennedy uses for the oil pressure switch on his lift pumps..

Do it with the engine hot. I just put an impact on it through the wheel well.

Both ports will work. One is pre cooler the other is post.

I tried the impact gun with a warm engine . The hex key striped out and didn't budge . Is the smaller steel plug below the filter a choice ?

You have to clean the plug out and tap in the bit so it sits all the way down. Probably too late now.

That one will work too.
