Ok so I put a ball in the ol lady's truck and the previous owner had cut off the factory 7 way plug when he put on the ranch hand rear bumper. And now I'm trying to put a plug in the bed. Started splicing the wires back up last night and can't figure out why it has 8 wires. The odd ball wire is a light blue wire. that comes on with the brake pedal. Makes no sense to me since the turn signals incorporate the brake signal. Any ideas?

Ok, went out to one of my other pickups and the light blue wire is that pig tail that comes out to a single pin connector. Now I'm curious what its purpose is?

The dark blue is for trailer brakes. A quick google search revealed that the light blue wire that pig tails off and dangles beside the plug is the CHMSL (center high mounted stop light) it just comes on with third brake light.
