No Park?

Somebody asked me the other day about this. Apparently when she puts her Duramax in Park, it still rolls. She says everything else seems to work normally. What type of failure could cause this?

Cable from the steering column. I've never seen a parking pall broken in an Allison.

The return spring could have broken for the parking pawl. But I would think the end of the shift cable has broken apart and isn't pulling all the way into park.

I was guessing at the cable too, but I was thinking that she would have more problems besides the "no park" issue. If she decides to bring the truck to me, I'll check that cable first. Thanks!

If the return spring broke; it would not release park.
