So I guess Kory has his trans tuning out now.

I'll definitely be ordering it, if only for the improved shift logic.
I wonder what Mike thinks about the 650hp and 300psi claim?

Wonder if it does away with or lessens defuel...?

I have a hard time believing the stock converter, or C3 clutch pack will handle 650 horsepower for very long...

650 on stock trans ? lol

They can do it for a very long time... we have seen a few hold 700 (still holding) for a good bit. However, anything can break at any time... Its deff not a permanent solution for a built trans!

Defuel- We leave stock defuel in all tcm/ecm tunes.

PMed MikeL this morning to try some of it and report back.... We (and Brad@Calvins) have seen them live stock at 550-600 for quite some time... With pressure mods (which now we can do with tuning) we have seen MANY still holding 650. Now, I think over time.. ANYTHING can break... and this is not a permanent solution to a built trans.

The LMLs we have here at the office are running it, we will see how much REAL long life abuse (or short life) they can have at 650-700hp :)... Mine gets hooked up to 20k on occasion, I'll beat on it and burn her down for results!

We can maintain 265 line at idle, 275 cruise, and 285-295 @WOT with spikes to 300psi...

Using a XDL 300psi sensor into a FPE datalogger... We have the results in the screenshots below.

Has this been tested with built transmissions as well?

Is the transmission in your truck stock?

Yes sir, but the majority of builders do their pressure mods mechanically (Basically removing main control)... So if the builder of the "built trans" didnt do those mods, then this will for sure help... but everyone i know building them does the pressure mods - I couldnt imagine someone building on and not doing it.

TC Lockup will still be a benefit to everyone, however.

I'm sorry. I guess I didn't word my question very well.

Once the transmission has been built and internal mods made to increase line pressure does the tcm tune need to be removed? Or what happens when you pair your tcm tuning with increased pressure from mechanical means?

Answered it above... but here is the response to that.

Thanks. I thought that was how it worked. But I wanted to clarify that making changes to the tcm wouldn't affect that.....

No sir.. I made a call to Brad@Calvins and Evan@limitless this morning confirming the changes we have will be fine with builds and all is well to go!

I would not check pressures with a transducer as they can be way off. A liquid filled gauge is preferred. I have never seen pressure any higher than 250 psi on an LML with the main mod disconnected. I tested a A50 TCM 5 years ago on my truck and saw 250 psi. I also saw higher temps with both these mods. Higher pressure will keep the trans alive longer no doubt; but you have shit clutches to begin with and converter clutch does not like anything above 800 ft lb of tq before the lining begins to break off.
I'll just keep doing things my way with building the trans.:D

At what torque level do the stock trans clutches start to wear abnormally?

Also is the converter clutch applied with main line pressure?
