Time to light up the tig.
Been tied up at work for the last few weeks but starting to get back on it.
Thanks for the throttles Kid Turbo, I was sweating that part of this project.
Will post a pic if it will upload.

Tacked up the long horizontal intercooler tubing today, starting to think aluminum that long is going to be crack prone. Probably should start a back up out of stainless.

Expansion tanks for heat exchangers
Excuse my welding, my lack of fine motor skills and tig are a bad mix.
Thinking maybe a couple vodka and tonic's might be good prep work.

Kid Turbo, these guys did some heat rejection research on the duramax (HP??)
And this is what they recommend, however they won't build it with a header tank. It's a 3 pass 6" by 33" shell cupra nickel tubing.

That seems a bit large for your setup especially. Shouldn't take much if anything more than a std BBC setup at those power levels. But ya can never go to big I guess.

Dave's only running a 5" by like 26" at 700-800hp. I've never seen his hit 180F in the data logs yet. I'm still considering somewhere around a 6" x 24" double pass that will fit along side the engines.

I would go take a peak at what the local Cummins gurus use on their 700hp. Bet it's smaller than your thinking.

Nice reservoir tanks, like the diamond plate caps. Grinder fix those welds right up..

My welds look like fido's azz but everything fits good
Thick shot of powder coat should fix em up enough to go fishing.

Hurry up man! The fishing is picking up! Wahoo are snapping in 220' and the gaffers will be here in day now. I'm sure your fishing is firing up, You running out to the far off Riggs and floating platforms to tuna fish?

I'm trying, believe me. Got too many irons in the fire as usual.
Yeah the rigs are in play but the real draw for me is the loop current beyond pulley ridge. I know there's a grander marlin waiting, deep dropping inside the drop off is a blast too.
Got this 900# blue in rum cay a few yrs ago off a friends boat.
Would be sweeter yet in the gulf.

Some are making the run in the west coast tournaments out of Sarasota in big contenders and yellow fins but I'd trailer it up to orange beach or Venice and fish a week or so.
