Hey can someone let me know which ac delco part number I need for a stock replacement? My searches show either 252898 or 251748. It looks like both come with a new cover. Thanks in advanced.

Zf I'm not sure. I'm done beating on the truck and its a 90 mile a day daily driver so I don't want or need anything welded or aftermarket. I'm open to suggestions though

It's not welded or anything performance. I thought I read lbz water pump impellers are plastic and the earlier ones are metal. Not that the plastic fails I just would feal better about a metal impeller

O ok I see. I knew there was a difference between lly and lbz pumps. Rock auto lists both ac delco part numbers mentioned in my op and I just want to make sure I get the correct one. Merchants isn't that far off in price considering it comes with the gaskets also.

12637105 is the correct part number. The factory water pump had a plastic impeller on it, replacement ac delco pumps have a metal impeller on them and the part number listed you should be receiving the water pump mounted into a new housing.

LB7/LLY water pumps came factory with metal impellers on them they are also smaller than LBZ/LMMs (not sure on LMMs) as well as the water pump housing on a LB7/LLY is smaller than a LBZ/LMM
