And we're off.....

Are you planning on blowing anything up the next four days?

I'll start out by saying, I hope all of you have a great and safe 4th of July! My son's and I will be getting into some firecrackers and what not. I was almost a 4th of July baby, missed it by 10 minutes . Be good, fellas.

For the past 10 years, we've done our own fireworks display in the backyard (after the wedding pics, you can see why).

Since the kids are now officially out-of-the-house, I havent even thought about buying any fireworks this year.... until I made this thread today.

Rodeo was fun. Security kept us from getting close enough to the fence to get any decent shots but I tried. Food served was tri-tip, bbq chicken, cornbread, mash potatoes and veggies. Went back for seconds 😁

We had a paraglider pulling a large American flag behind him land in the rodeo to kick it off

Followed by the national anthem

Mutton bustin, bunking broncos, etc

And finished off with a fireworks show

Happy 4th of July, everybody!

Neighbor about 1/2 mile down the road must have more money than God, as they had a professional fireworks display on both the 1st and the 2nd. Very impressive, to say the least.

Well we got the fan clutch locked up and we’re able to trim the intercooler boot back enough to miss the cut it got in it. All that’s left is to get the right length belt from gm. Could probably make it back on this 1” longer one but not going to risk it

I was surprised how easy it was to get this out. Way better than lbz-lml

Picking up some oil to do an oil change. Noticed all the Rotella T6 was all 15w40 instead of the usual 5w40. Anyone know if they changed the formula once again? Not that it's cold enough here to really need the 5 over the 15. I'm just hoping they aren't reformulating it and making it worse.

Oils have been a shit show... Valvoline recalled there MAX-Life transmission fluid. It took 4 stores before someone actually told us it was recalled. everyone else just played dumb... Sorry it's out of stock.

Last time I was looking for some specific brand, weight that I couldn't find, I was told "The plastic bottles they fill the product with are made in China and they were delayed so they couldn't put product out because they didn't have containers to put them in." Not saying I buy that. but it's what I was told...

It could just be that CA didn't get paid there global warming tax from the oil company...

I was able to spend the day with my son, helping him out with issues around their new townhouse. Built a couple washer/dryer pedestals. Changed out the old dryer venting with new (holy shit, was that old stuff full of lint!). Found wiring connections in the basement between the joists that were not in a box, so fixed that issue.....which coincided with me running a new wire to a switch at the basement door to run the lights bc there wasnt one.

Im so proud of him.

Our house was second hand, but not real old (12 years when we bought). I hate finding stuff that hacks leave behind, I can't imagine buying a real old house that's had 4 or 5 owners

Pretty sure T6 5w40 was on the shelf last I looked at TSC, around $60 for 2.5gal jug. I'd ship you a jug if you want 😎

Spent the better part of the day unnecessarily removing my newly installed compound setup thinking the atmosphere needed to be rebuilt since it was pushing oil.

Turns out it was operator error and I had stuffed a paper towel in the oil drain hole while I was wire wheeling some surface rust off it and forgot to remove like an idiot. Had driven around all week with no signs of anything until we were 30miles into a 150mile trip when we started smoking out the entire highway. Sun wasn’t up all the way yet so it looked like we had hung an injector or something. Had to turn around to go back and switch vehicles and start over which isn’t fun with two kids in the back seat.

On another note I wanted to give a huge thanks to @Animals1234 who I got the kit from. Dude drove 3hours each way last weekend and brought his entire tool setup to help someone he met for 20min wrench all weekend. (He had no knowledge of the paper towel haha) he worked his ass off all weekend just because he’s a nice guy. We changed both chargers and the stock downpipe was a struggle to remove even with his good snap on swivel head ratchets. Really appreciate all the help I’ve gotten on here from everyone and he went above and beyond what was required. Great guy to spend the weekend crawling around under a truck with also.
