LMM: How the heck do you get the rear bumper off?

Im hung up on how to get the spare tire thinger seperated from the bumper without destroying it. Is there some kind of secret to this? Trying to get the mirrors and bumpers ready for paint.

You have to take a smaller flat blade screwdriver and pry each of the teeth up from inside where the tube slides thru. Hard to describe but that's how I've always removed them.
