You can check it through the bottom with the tail housing bolted on. That's how I did mine last night.

The c5's I don't believe you can check with the tail housing bolted on. They are the clutches in the very back of the trans. If somehow you can I'm all ears but I don't see how unless you have a window in your trans.

You can see them just fine with the valve body off.

Gotcha, I've already got the pan back on. I'm converting a 2x4 over to a 4x4. So at the time of install I'll be swapping the extention housing over. Looking for a quick way to measure
