Has anyone boxed in the frame under the cab to help with frame flexing the body lines of the cab and bed? What about solid mounting the cab instead of the poly mounts it's on. Would that help a lot??

solid mounts would tear the body up in a hurry if the frame is flexing. Boxing in the frame would add alot of strength

Thought youd want some flex to allow the truck to hug the ground better? There's a couple 2.6/3.0 Dodge trucks around me that have told me that theory anyway.

i thought that was one of the functions of the suspension????

too much flex in the frame and you will start to have cracks form, especially at the welds

Theres a fine line between to solid of a pulling chassis, and to much flex of a pulling chassis. Is the rear of your frame trussed? You need to box the frame in certain places to add rigidity but remeber every pound of steel you weld on is a pound your losing from the weight box.

Ben, we ran traction bars up at an angle that mounted at the back of the cab in '12-'14. Cclb with duals. It wanted to flex the frame like yours so for '14 season we boxed the frame from under the rear seat all the way back to the cross member in front of the hitch. It was surprisingly solid with the bars still in the same place, basically making a picture point for the frame right at the back of the cab

Okay I'll have to do that. 1/8 okay or should I use 3/16? Were you able to weld the top of the frame under the cab without removing the cab? Haven't really stuck my head under there but I dont want to pull the cab lol

Don't remember. Just jack it up if u can't get to it. I think we used 11 gauge, so 1/8 probably fine

you should be able to weld it without taking the cab off. the fram c-channel rolls around and has a lip that points down from the top or up from the bottom. you could slide some steel in back behind the lips and butt weld them in to that. or just place the steel outside and weld to those lips. should be simple :D

This cab mount just fell off the left rear of the cab. Maybe get new ones it will help hold it straighter???? And I look at the right side and it's no where to be found. So the back two bolts aren't holding the cab down to frame
