While towing 24' trailer check engine light came on. Read the code reader and found a P0299 code. When I bought the truck it makes a funny noise during acceleration. First I thought it was from the Gale Banks cold air intake but I wonder if it could be a turbo to intercooler boot leak? The noise is not continuous. Kind of random.

Build a boost leak tester. Take the boot of the outlet of the compressor side and find a pvc pipe cap that will fit. Drill a hole in the top and put and air chuck in it. Don't go over 40 psi
