Duramax with 5spd

Have a chance to get a good deal on an 02' Durmax Crew Cab, power windows, locks, cruise, 8' bed with v-plow but it's got a 5 speed manual transmission. Anything I should know about these? Just looking for a truck to beat around town with, pull a job trailer (6000lbs), plow and sand etc. Only ever seen the ZF6 not a 5 speed.

Yep, like all the punks I work with that tell me their tune only diesel is ripping out 600+ horse.

Drove it only 5spd. KBB and Nada both have 5spd options. Never seen one before.

Absolutely a diesel, reverse is top left up against knee like old half tons. Has a super low first gear, always called them Donkey gears on 1/2 tons.

Then it's a diesel swap from a 6.0 gasser. The 5speed option your seeing is from the 6.0 option...

6.0 gassers used a nv4500. reverse is to the right and down.

Dumb question, but what is the 8th digit in the VIN? Should be a 1 if its an original Dmax truck.

Maybe there not a counting low gear or don't know it's there. Straight down from reverse. If you don't use that which u really won't unless towing heavy it's a 5 speed. Using 2nd to 6th. I never use low I could see someone not knowing it's there. Or saying it's a 5 speed with low. Like saying it's a 3 speed with overdrive, so a 4 speed.
