So took the plunge on doing up a set of twins on the Chevelle. Trying to get the pics loaded.....

Top turbo is factory IHI PNP by yellow Chevy and atmo turbo is your standard s475. Just got it wrapped up over the weekend and took it to work today, 80 mile round trip. All is good :) runs great, pulls really hard up top. Can't wait to get it to the track!!

Ended up making a custom tstat housing pointing the right direction. Man it's a really nice piece. Started out as a solid chunk of aluminum. My buddy made it from Galt Machine and Welding.

Nice work. That is my favorite model of Chevelle, and I still have my 67 I bought when I was 13. I may try a Duramax in it next instead of the big block I was planning on installing. You've put a lot of work in that car and it looks great.

Man this has got to be the coolest thing i ever seen. I have always loved the 70 chevelle. How does the 6.6 compare to the 396 or 454 on track?

Thx you guys, yes I does fit nicely. Few minor changes I need to make but over all it functions well. This combo it way better then any bbc. The drivability and reliability factor is so much better. And efficiency is off the charts!!! Makes over 700hp / 1200ft lbs of torque and gets over 30mpg's. You will never get this out of a bbc. Not happening.

Oh and this Dmax is bone stock..... With a stock s475 on it.

Blast to drive, spools super fast. Blowing the tires off at 50-60+ mph now. Can't even get into the throttle till top of 3, then full throttle in od. And it's still on base tuning, gonna start tweaking with the tunes soon and hit the track.

Definitely one of my all time favorites!

Would your buddy want to make some more of those tstat housings? Reckon what one would cost?!

You mentioned overdrive... I guess it's not the 400 trans anymore... What transmission do you have in it now?

Still has a 400 in it and a gear vendor. Been running that since 2011 ish. I call it overdrive.... At least that's how I use it.

9's with stockish motor...... Motor had rods..... Other then that the motor was stock. Pistons, crank, cam, heads all stock. Had exergy injectors, 2 stock Lbz pumps (but may have only been fueling with 1), and 3 box stock 66's. Ran 9.79@142 at 4560lbs.

T stat housing.... I'm sure he would make more. But it will be costly, it's all by hand on a mill (no computer controlled stuff) so it's about an 8 hr job. We've discussed how much he would charge to make one, obviously if he made several it would save some money and time.

If your serious Lmk, send me a text or call and I'll set you up. It will be expensive.... Keep that in mind.

Is there more build info somewhere on this car?

Not on this site. It's evolved so many times in the past 9 yrs it's hard to keep up. It has a stock LB7, turbo 400 and 9". Hole bunch of stuff In between that. Been driving it since 2009 with this lb7 and have over 50k miles on the car since then.

It's the car in my signature.

Glad to hear you're liking it. I'm still needing to build twins for mine to take advantage of that fast spooling turbo I've got...:woott:

Thanks for the feed back!!:thumb::thumb:
