Either way it Would make for a great Viral video... Patch it up and send it again...

Slap a used crank in it, put the rods in a press and straighten them, a brass tube in the oil galley with JB weld... Fill the block so no water jackets...

People would go bananas.

Some one really should do that with all the scrap parts they can salvage. It would be epic!!!

So are you thinking build error or parts failure?

Super large bore size, 30ish hooks on it. Im not sure what happened first but the split block is just gonna happen at this level. Ideally should be deck-plated to run this bore size.

The new engine will be the smallest bore size that will fit the valves.

This exact build can hold up at this level, but of course its not a surprise when some things happen. But so far there's a possibility of a bad air to water intercooler, leaking water into charge pipe. The owner has also admitted to using ether to get it started last couple pulls, probably due to low compression with cyl wall cracked. Also admitted that there was bearing material on the oil filter pre screen a couple pulls ago.....

you think garage54 can weld all that back up?

my first thought was some kind of hydro-lock. your explanation makes sense. even if it wasn't, enough water down the cylinder wouldn't be good for lubrication
