Best compound set-up for 900+ hp

I am posting this for a friend, he has a 04 lb7 that needs an engine re-build so he is going all out on a built motor. It's already in progress with wagler having just finished the machine work. He has a 12mm cp3 and will be running 100-150% injectors. Right now we are looking at a drop in 64 stage 3 from dans paired with a S485. We talked to wherli and they said that should hit our goal of 900+ no problem. The question is would we be better off with a 66 drop in paired with a 488? Or would a 64 with a 488 give us a bit more top-end while still keeping the super fast spooling 64...

Just seen where Nick at Duramax Tuner's Duraburb makes 1050 with a 64 vvt drop in and sxe 488 on an lbz. Probably the route we will go! The 64 will be a fixed vane for a lb7 of course.

these numbers depend on a few things

what is his intention with the truck?
whats the MAX hp he would like to hit?
is he open to changing injector or adding more cp3?

900 on those injectors, cp3, and turbos is going to be right around the limits of them all. Then injectors will start falling outside of their safest limit, turbos will need to be driven harder and not clean up as much smoke, cp3 may or may not have enough in it for more uS beyond the 900hp area

if he wants a nice 900-1000hp truck max, 150's, single 12, 64 and upgraded 485 would be a very good combo to get him there without sacrifcing too much spool. the 66 and 488 would work too but remember, that turbo nick built cnat be compared to the lb7 stuff. exhaust side flow is very different. Hes really better off with a sxe363 or sxe366

He just purchased the pump and injectors so he will want to keep those. I think somethin like the stage 3 64 drop in from dans with the larger turbine wheel should handle what he is wantin to do and spool fast still. We just aint sure 485 vs 488.. leaning towards 485 since he is happy as long as he tops 900hp and the overlap may be better with that setup.

Who's S485 and S488? If Its a stock BW fmw 88 and a decent billet wheel 85 I would go with the 85.
