So I picked up an 02 2500hd crank/no start for cheap. Long story short, I tore into it and found that all 8 push rods were bent and of course tearing up all the valve bridges and the stem of 1 valve. So I'm reading about the cam pin shearing and went to investigate. I haven't pull the cam gear off yet(don't have socket on hand), but cam and crank gear are still timed correctly. Pulled the heads off and there appears to no damage to valves or pistons. I was told it shut off going down the road so that's all the info i have on that. Any ideas. Thanks.

Also-Anyone know how get the oil pump and reluctor gear off of the crank? Thanks again.

Your on the right track. Remove cam gear first. Absolutely no sense in guessing until then.

Exactly ^^^^^ I just think since he’s this close to having the gear off its foolish to guess or even look for any other problems until you see what the cam gear alignment pin looks like.
