Trans got the stage 4 kit from ppe installed at reputable trans shop with all clearances within spec as per ppe install. After about 3-4days of driving trans will adapt to shift almost normal but if you reset the adapts it will have a flare in rpm then a slam into gear. Onlyyyy does it 3-4 up shift. Below is a picture of the tech2 screen of the adapts on a stock 5spd Allison and the ppe stage4 installed 5 speed trans. If any of the data values on the picture mean anything I would love to be explained what they mean. Top is stock bottom is the ppe. Image1466886181.488102.jpg

Why would you keep resetting taps?

Tav seems way to high to me.... I'll bet the clearance is to large. I'm also curious why your adapt pressures are higher then stock. That isn't right....... I think you might have serious issues.

Quit resetting the taps. Your never going to get anywhere doing that.

We reset cause the change a solenoid. And we've retuned the can back to stock and then reset taps. And it was a ppe stage 4 kit. Whatever hydraulic mods included in the ppe kit were installed. And as for the c2 I believe the stage 4 kit includes 8 frictions. And as for clearance not sure about numbers but they were within spec of what the ppe installing requires.

Who built it? How many clutches in the c2? What input drum mods were done? What were the clearances?

As for the mods I believe the two restrictors were drilled out and installed ones included in the kit and also got the one hole in the side drilled as per instructions also.

8 clutches in C2 are not helping.

That's what I've been hearing. Why is that by chance ? Does it keep the clutch engaged just a moment to long and the bang is the c2 finally releasing once trans is in clutch packs at once ?

The bang is being in 2 gears at once because of a tie up. It actually locks the rear wheels for a second. Not good.

Two gears yes but I was thinking 3 clutchs were engaged at once being because the c2 doesn't want to free up due to the extra clutch or something ? We drove it in tow haul. And at 1/4 throttle it broke tires loose. Trans is going to come out tomorrow and go back to trans shop. So Mike you recommend to avoid the 8 friction c2 ?

It's just a stock lb7 with a Idaho Rob built trans tune. What would You suggest ?

My lbz had a 4094vvt with the ppe stage 4 kit with robs tunes. That trans lasted 9k miles and needed rebuilt. The lly I bought with twins and robs tunes turned out to have the same ppe kit in it. Don't know how many actual miles were on it, was told 2k but it crapped out within 3k or so miles of driving. Both trucks were 550-600 range and the lly's trans clutches were burnt pretty bad. If I get another trans built it's going to come from Mike l or limitless so that's who I would be calling if I were you. Good luck!

Thank you. And it's a friends trans he thought to save money and buy the ppe setup but it doesn't included any Pistons or lip seals or orings. And by the time you buy that kit the price of the gmax kit with suncoast convertor is the same price. And it's weird the ppe stage 4 has 8 frictions in the c2 but their stage 5 has 7 frictions. I want to run the 6spd gmax raybestos kit the -3 one that includes all the gaskets and seals.
