I have an AD165 and the motor recently gave out. It was from 08 so can’t complain. Bought a new one and it’s much quieter. I could usually hear the old one when I turned the key forward. My question is will the light kit illuminate when the pump is not working even though it’s a flow thru on failure? I believe the sensor is preset to 5 psi. Also is it the black and blu wire that connect to the light? I have them saved off in engine bay. Anyone have pics installed?

the pressure in the fuel supply line will drop to zero or negative pressure if the lift pump stops even with it being a flow through. thus the 5 psi sensor should activate the light

As said above, the sensor does not necessarily care what happens to the pump. The sensor is there to turn on the light anytime pressure at the sensor (usually it's installed at the lift pump) drops below 5psig (gauge) to indicate either a pump issue or filter restriction issue.
