So I decided to give the ol xploder a once over this past weekend to get her ready for full time driving again, because this week it looks like I'll be working full time in the field as a technician again so I wanted to spend some time with it..

Well, after I washed the engine bay, it started missing, now it's been running fine.. Ish up until then. No codes. Go figure. So I started poking around to see if I bumped a plug wire. Well, came to cylinder 4 on the pack and got zapped. Not "OMG that friken hurt" but more like "ouch, that's not right".

Pulled the wire off. Found the contact to be burnt to all hell. This car has eaten 6 coil packs in the past 8 years. This one lasting 5 years.

Changed the pack and wires (good plugs are on order) and did the seafoam through the intake treatment and runs like a new car.

I bought it with 110k in 2011, by the time I bought betty in 12 it had 150k. Now has 192k. Field work started being off and on.

Gonna refresh the engine in this girl somewhere down the road. Never had the timing chains done yet.

Mike put a trans in it a few years ago I think.

Not a Ford guy but love this little car.
