Sweet! I just picked up an unfired Ruger Precision Rifle in .243! I can't wait to get some time with her on the 600yd range at my club.

Years ago I developed a 6mm X 7mm Weatherby magnum wildcat. I was getting 5800FPS velocity. Wore out the throat in 20 shots. You should have seen what it did to a 5lb can of chilli. :D:thumb:

I'm working up a 105gr load; RPR is 1:7.7 twist and likes heavies :)

Looks good. What kind of glass?

I have a 243 myself, but it's not set up for real long range. About 600 is all I've shot it to.

I should come clean, its a 6mm creedmoor :joker:

Glass is a loaner I borrowed off my 308 rifle, tis a Burris XTRii. I will prob move it back to the 308 come spring and put a vortex razor gen ii on this.

With a little luck, I hope to hit Cumberland Riflemen this weekend (Millville, NJ). HMU if you ever want to check it out.

Guests are free and I can take 2 guests every time that I go. No steel on any range except the 50yd plinking range and the 25yd steel pistol range. But, all paper targets (including the 600yd large targets) are free. We are a CMP club, so we get them for free :)

I used to shoot at Dix; too frustrating. I'm very glad to take the ride down to Cumberland instead.

I made up some rounds before I bought it, LOL. All I need to do is set my COAL. I'm going to start at .008" off the lands and see how she likes it.

I am limited by mag to roughly 2.800 COAL which was rough with 308, but the SMK's didn't mind the jump. Hoping I can get the 6mm to shoot as well as the 308 does, ~1/4moa if I do my part.

Really need to order dies and 4350 but, procrastinating and shooting box hornady cause I am lazy

I am undecided, the 105gr stuff I am shooting now is damn fast, my AVG MV is 3064 on a relatively cold day. That is too close to the speed limit of 3150 in the summer for my liking. Granted this is box Hornady

I think Sierra has 110gr SMK I may try out, or just stick with 105gr's and slow em down with lesser powder throws.

I'm loading the balls off the Berger 105gr Hybrid with H1000. I've never tried these before because my other 243 doesn't have the twist rate to handle the heavies. But I got some very reliable data about the upper node with this combo, so I'm going to give it a shot. My fav powder has always been IMR 4350 though.

6 creed is relatively new so not much out there load data wise, I am open to whatever. This barrel I went with a 1:7 twist, 26in, full contour

With my 308 I went budget with 175gr SMK over IMR4064 in reused federal brass and CCI 200s, which worked great, easily 1/2moa with me rushing shots.

The creedmoor crowd just seems to love H4350 and nothing else. Damn hipsters.

hipsters, LOL. I think the 6.5 CM is the man bun of the rifle world. Your 6 at least shoots the same projectiles as mine, so you're "ok". HAHA

Yea, I need to get a powder figured out soon.

Very limited off the shelf options for ammo and I am not sure how the box stuff will do at 600yd.
