2005 Silverado 2500 aux input

Hey guys, I want to install a aux input into my Silverado. Currently I have the stock Bose premium system, 6 cd in dash, xm activated etc.

I already had a gm12 auxv2 purchased and installed in my 03 before I totaled it.

Here are my questions, When installed in my 03, I had the aux button (no xm) on the head until and it worked great. My 05 has a cd/aux button and band button. How will I switch between xm, aux etc.

If I install this gm12-auxv2 will I have xm and also a aux feature for iPod etc or will I loose a feature (xm, cd etc)

I'm interested as well. I'd guess the Yukon/Tahoe or GMfullsize forums likely have more data on this as they tend to modify more than the diesel forums, esp. on the sound/electronics side.

Subbed. When my iSimple worked I didn't lose any features but I'm not sure about this, never heard of it before.

I have seen a few installs with a diy aux input from radioshack, by tapping into the xm harness behind the glove box i believe. ive googled a bit but never tried it

I got it all to work out. I have to push seek up and down quickly then it will switch to aux and seek up and down again to go back to xm
