I hit 1680° on a hard pull with all that is in my sig. I don't like it either and I have already done everything discussed here hoping 480 over this 3794 brings them down....

Twins will drop them for sure, unless you keep throwing more fuel at it....lil, I was hitting 1760 on dyno in my twin days... But my tow tune was under 1200 pulling a heavy tow up a long grade, loved them twins!

The hotter egts are free horsepower

Yeah, I've been trying to get under 2000* for 3 pulling seasons...but it drives a large single turbo well!!! LMFAO!

I am looking at 45s or 60s and duel fuelers but at this point more for the pulse widths I better build a motor before I go throwing more fuel at it I don't want any viewing windows in the block...

Did the manifolds' ever seem to make a difference? Been looking at Ricks ProFlow Log Headers & Up Pipes.

People "claim" up to 250* egt reduction, although when I had my single 80/96 on my race truck I still saw 1800* with them on the bottle.

I think in certain areas yes they do help, but for max effort shenanigans, they don't.

When you leave the line at 1200* and the EGT gauge moves faster than the boost gauge, you know it's going to be a party

Ever tried water?

No, everyone I know who has dynoed with water injection on a Duramax, seen higher cylinder pressures and minimal to no HP increase... My pistons have been throw 3 sets of rings and 4 pulling seasons, still look great....so I don't see a need.

Could it hurt them and you lose your engine the next time you do it? Sure. I assure you though, there have been a gazillion of them do it for short stints of time, like when racing, and it doesn't hurt them. I really wouldn't worry about that.

I don't remember the fail type being from fatigue? Its been a LONG time since I read up on the LBZ/LMM piston issues though.
