Info: 03+ dash in 01-02?

Hello, I have an 01 silverado 2500hd that im thinking about trying to put the new dash in so i can maybe put in the duel ac/heat controls and run a double din and possibly the steering wheel also so i can use steering wheel controls

anyone ever done this?

I dont think you would be able to run the dual heat controls unless you change the wiring harness, sensors and BCM to 03-07. Then there's the question of how do you mate it to the 01-02 truck as the comm protocols are different. In the end, I dont think its possible.

There is a thread somewhere here about swapping an aftermarket Double DIN radio in an 01-02 truck. It was pretty involved.
