03 2500hd project

I am picking up a 03 2500HD. Its missing the 6.6, and transmission. My thoughts are to drop a 6BT p-pump cummins , 5spd manual trans in but my question is do I need to keep the ECU to control anything in terms of heater, ac, or anything ?

Sounds like blasphemy to me, but you do need to keep the BCM to run the electronics in the cab. How you're ever going to get it to work with the Cummins engine electronics, let alone figuring out how to get the cluster and all to work correctly, is the problem. Good luck.
